Social Climate Framework

By developing a bespoke Social Climate Framework, we can comprehensively assess various dimensions of social climate that reflect our ToC and key features of our model of care:

  • Relationship-centred care

  • Sociocratic governance

  • Multi-stakeholder ownership

  • Co-production

These principles don’t stand alone. They’re deeply interconnected and shaped by the power dynamics at play in our organisation. That’s why our Social Climate Framework focuses on outcomes that show whether these values are truly lived.

We group these outcomes into three domains:

🌿 Growth Outcomes Domain

This domain focuses on personal development, empowerment, and autonomy. It covers outcomes such as:

  • Opportunities for learning and skill-building

  • Increased independence

  • Inclusive participation in decision-making

  • Confidence in taking on new roles

Growth outcomes signal that our care environment is helping people — whether they are giving or receiving support — to thrive, not just survive.

🛠️ Systems Maintenance & Co-production Outcomes Domain

This domain is about how well the system works with and for the people in it. It includes:

  • Participatory decision-making

  • Clear roles and shared task management

  • Mutual accountability

  • Innovation and adaptability

These outcomes tell us how dynamic, transparent, and responsive our co-operative is — and whether it genuinely supports shared power and responsibility.

💞 Well-being, Relationships & Belonging Outcomes Domain

This domain centres emotional, social, and community experiences of care. It includes outcomes like:

  • Feeling safe, respected, and valued

  • Trusting and supportive relationships

  • A sense of belonging and connection

  • Community kindness and cohesion

At its heart, this domain is about how people feel in their relationships — and whether the care environment promotes dignity, joy, and solidarity.
